US sellers on Depop pay no selling fee. The only charge on a normal sale is payment processing: 3.3% + $0.45 on the item price plus shipping and any sales tax. If the sale came through a Boosted listing, Depop adds a 12% boosting fee. A $25 item with $5 shipping costs you $1.44 in fees and leaves $28.56.

Worked examples
| Sale | Processing | Boost | Total fees | Payout |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| $25 item + $5 shipping, no tax | $1.44 | none | $1.44 (4.8%) | $28.56 |
| $60 item + $8 shipping, 8% tax | $2.87 | none | $2.87 (4.2%) | $65.13 |
| Same sale through a Boosted listing | $2.87 | $8.16 | $11.03 (16.2%) | $56.97 |
The third row shows why Boost matters: on the same $60 sale, a boosted order costs almost four times as much in fees. Boosting can still pay off if it sells items that would otherwise sit, but price boosted items with the 12% in mind.
How Depop's fees work
Payment processing: 3.3% + $0.45
Every sale paid through Depop Payments carries a processing fee of 3.3% plus a fixed $0.45. It is charged on what the buyer pays: the item price, the shipping, and any sales tax. Because tax is included, the calculator asks for the buyer's tax rate under More options.
Boosting fee: 12%
Boosted listings get extra visibility, and you pay only when a boosted listing sells. For US sellers the fee is 12% of the item price, not including tax. If you shipped without a Depop label, Depop also charges the 12% on the shipping cost. Depop's page states the 12% rate for new listings from March 23, 2026; it does not say how older boosted listings are charged, so check your sale receipt for those.
Buyer fees are not yours
Depop charges buyers a separate marketplace fee at checkout. It does not come out of your payout, so it is not part of this calculator.
How to work out Depop fees by hand
Add the item price, the shipping the buyer pays and any sales tax. Multiply that total by 3.3% and add $0.45: that is the processing fee. If the item sold through a Boosted listing, multiply the item price by 12% and, if you did not use a Depop label, add 12% of the shipping too. Subtract both from the item price plus shipping to get your payout, then subtract what the item cost you and the postage you paid to get your profit.
For a $60 item with $8 shipping and 8% tax: the total is $73.44, so processing is $2.42 + $0.45 = $2.87. You keep $65.13 before postage. The calculator does the same steps and rounds each fee to the cent.
Common mistakes
- Forgetting tax in the processing base. Depop charges processing on sales tax as well, so a quick "3.3% of the price" undercounts.
- Treating the buyer fee as yours. The marketplace fee buyers see at checkout is not deducted from your payout.
- Boosting cheap items. On a $15 item, 12% plus processing and postage can leave very little.
How to price on Depop
- Use the target profit mode to find the lowest price that leaves the profit you want after processing and postage.
- Decide on Boost per item. Run the numbers with the Boost box ticked before you boost cheaper items, where 12% plus postage can wipe out the margin.
- Use Depop labels when boosting. The boosting fee then skips the shipping cost.
Depop vs. other resale apps
With no selling fee, Depop is one of the cheapest places to sell clothes in the US: about 4% to 5% on a typical sale, against 10% on Mercari and 20% on Poshmark. The eBay fee calculator compares one item across all of them.
